Maintec 2025 Roundup – Our Top Spots and Key Takeaways

Monday 16th June, 2025

Colleagues across PEMAC and ShireSystem represented Elecosoft at Maintec in Birmingham on 4-5 June, 2025.

Maintec 2025 once again stood out as a leading event for maintenance and asset management professionals. For the PEMAC team, it provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with peers, customers, and industry leaders. While the innovation on display was impressive, it was the conversations around shifting priorities that offered some of the most useful insights.

Three themes emerged consistently: the growing importance of compliance in regulated industries, stronger expectations around ROI, and the progression of AI from a future concept to an operational reality.

Strategic Integration: A Clear Priority

A standout moment at the event was the joint presentation by Donal Bourke (PEMAC) and Andrea Banfi (ShireSystem), which focused on the importance of strategic integration in modern maintenance. Their message resonated with attendees: successful asset management increasingly depends on seamless integration across systems, processes, and data.

This reflects the direction PEMAC is moving in since joining the Elecosoft group. With PEMAC and ShireSystem now aligned under the same umbrella, the potential for connected, cross-functional maintenance solutions has grown significantly. From enhanced analytics and reporting to workflow integration and real-time data sharing, the combined capabilities of PEMAC and ShireSystem are delivering a more unified approach.

As PEMAC’s Director of Sales, Donal Bourke, put it:

“Bringing PEMAC into Elecosoft is enabling us to deliver a more joined-up and efficient support experience for our customers – giving them access to broader expertise and faster resolution times. Just as importantly, the integration is accelerating our product development roadmap. Ultimately, this means customers see greater return on investment – not just in terms of system performance, but in how quickly they can unlock value and improve operational outcomes.”

Compliance in Highly Regulated Industries

One of the clearest trends at Maintec 2025 was the increasing focus on regulatory compliance, particularly from organisations operating in heavily regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food production, energy, and healthcare.

For these industries, compliance is not optional. It’s a critical, ongoing requirement that must be demonstrably met. Attendees highlighted the need for maintenance systems that go beyond simply logging activity, they must provide traceability, accountability, and detailed documentation to satisfy auditors and regulators.

PEMAC ASSETS CMMS is specifically designed with these requirements in mind. Its capabilities support full audit trails, validation processes, version control, and configurable workflows – all essential for maintaining compliance while ensuring operational continuity. Real-time reporting tools also enable organisations to track regulatory KPIs and produce the evidence needed for inspections or certification processes.

Several attendees shared that their existing systems were failing to meet these needs, often requiring significant manual input or secondary systems to bridge the gaps. PEMAC offers a fully integrated alternative – one that allows businesses to embed compliance directly into their maintenance workflows.

At a time when regulatory scrutiny is increasing and standards are tightening, having a system that supports compliance by design – not as an afterthought is more valuable than ever.

ROI: Clear Value and Fast Results

Return on Investment was another recurring topic throughout Maintec 2025. Whether organisations were evaluating CMMS platforms for the first time or reviewing existing systems, they now expect fast, measurable value.

Yes, cost savings matter – and PEMAC helps reduce unplanned downtime, improve asset lifespan, and optimise maintenance scheduling. But the definition of ROI is expanding.

Many businesses now emphasise operational continuity and resilience. By ensuring uptime and supporting production schedules, maintenance solutions help safeguard revenue and reputation. Compliance, as noted above, was also a key focus, with organisations looking to meet regulatory obligations more efficiently and with greater confidence.

Data visibility was another theme, with organisations seeking better ways to analyse maintenance activity and make informed decisions. PEMAC’s ability to consolidate and analyse asset data supports this goal, driving continuous improvement and efficiency gains.

Ultimately, companies are looking for systems that deliver more than admin – they want solutions that actively improve operations, resilience, and long-term performance.

AI: From Concept to Capability

AI is no longer just a buzzword in the maintenance world – and at Maintec, the shift towards practical application was clear.

Many attendees were already exploring or trialling AI-powered features, particularly in areas like asset condition monitoring and intelligent scheduling. These tools are helping teams prioritise workloads, balance resources, and act before failures occur.

Crucially, AI is not replacing human judgement. Instead, it’s enhancing it – offering decision support and freeing maintenance teams to focus on high-value activities. For many organisations, this combination of human expertise and intelligent tools is unlocking new levels of reliability and responsiveness.

Looking Forward

Maintec 2025 confirmed that maintenance is becoming more strategic, data-driven, and compliance-focused than ever. As organisations continue to evolve, they need systems that support their ambitions – delivering clear ROI, meeting regulatory requirements, and making advanced technologies like AI usable in day-to-day operations.

PEMAC is well-positioned to meet these needs. As part of the Elecosoft group, we’re delivering smarter, more scalable CMMS solutions that adapt to our customers’ journeys and integrate with their wider operations.

Our goal remains simple: to help maintenance teams deliver not just reliability, but real strategic value now and into the future.
